Rita Rani Ahuja is an actress, writer, and director. She voiced “Alexandrite” on The Cartoon Network’s award-winning animated show, STEVEN UNIVERSE. Next she will be seen in the feature film, I AM WOMAN, a biopic about musician and activist Helen Reddy, starring Tilda Cobham-Hervey. She made her comedic debut in the indie feature THE WAY WE WEREN’T starring Fiona Gubelmann and Ben Lawson. She also worked alongside Minnie Driver and Marin Hinkle on the ABC show, SPEECHLESS. Rita won the Images Award at the Filmi Film Festival in Toronto, Canada for her performance in the indie feature, TRADE OFFS.
Other work includes a recurring role on the Showtime Miniseries SLEEPER CELL and a part in the indie feature PEEP WORLD, starring Taraji P. Henson,
Sarah Silverman, Judy Greer, Michael C. Hall and Rainn Wilson. Rita’s directorial debut BOMBAY SKIES won numerous awards including Best Short Film at The La Femme Film Festival in Los Angeles. She is a classical Indian dancer and singer. Lastly, Rita holds an MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA.
